Trinity joined the Johnson family when Mallory adopted her in December of 2011.  Mallory was a volunteer at Better Days Animal League, and Trinity was one of ten dogs and over 20 cats rescued from a hoarding environment.  Mallory agreed to foster her because her condition at the time of rescue wouldn't allow  her to be kept at the facility.  She was only 2.5 lbs at the time she was rescued!  Trinity's foster arrangement with Mallory ended when Mallory finally realized that Trinity was officially, and forever, part of the family.  Trinity is now enjoying a healthy life and weight, as well as the company of her new best friend, Bailey.

Miles was adopted by Victoria in the fall of 2004 from the Ensminger SPCA.  He had spent two unsuccessful weeks at Buffalo City Shelter before being transferred, as a last chance, to the SPCA.  When Victoria first saw him, he was sitting on his bed, next to his own poop, with his back to the door.  He was so sure that no one was going to take him that he didn't even get up to greet people who came to see him anymore.  :(  For inexplicable reasons, Victoria decided that a dog who would poop on his own bed, and who showed no visible interest in meeting any humans would make a perfect pet.  She brought him home, and they've been together nearly 10 years now.  Miles thought briefly about running away from home when Victoria brought home a second dog in 2005, but thankfully, he's decided to stick around!

Bailey was abandoned in October of 2007.  Her owner left town and left her behind!  After Bailey had been alone for 5 days, someone fortunately told Mallory about her plight.  Mallory agreed to foster her temporarily, but Mallory doesn't fall in love on a temporary basis!  6 years later, Bailey enjoys an owner who would do anything to help her live life as fully as possible.  Mallory has helped her through three separate surgeries and the recoveries that followed.  Life is good for Bailey Johnson, who eats home-cooked meals, VIP status at A Joyful Dog.

Share The Joy

At A Joyful Dog, we know all too well how many pups are waiting in shelters and rescues for someone to come and offer them a Forever Home.  We want to Share The Joy with those pups and the amazing people who donate so much of their time and energy to helping those pups.  We are committing, as an organization, to work with a different local shelter or rescue group every two months to help them in whatever way possible. We invite our extended family of clients and friends to joins us in our mission to SHARE THE JOY!
